The teams at the Atherton and Malanda Falls Information Centres are looking for volunteers to donate a few hours a week to the centres.
‘Volunteering at the information centres is a great opportunity to share your knowledge and love of the Tablelands,’ said Deputy Mayor Kevin Cardew.
‘You also get to meet new people and, if you’ve just arrived in the region, learn about your new backyard.
‘We provide training and conduct familiarisation tours so you can experience our region’s attractions.
‘Join the volunteers and staff at a morning tea at Gallo’s Dairyland at 9.30am on Thursday 15 September so you can meet the friendly teams and find out more about the centres,’ said Deputy Mayor Cardew.
Arthur Green volunteers for four hours each week at the Atherton Visitor Information Centre.
‘As a retiree I enjoy the social aspect of volunteering and I get a lot of self-satisfaction.
‘I really enjoy the camaraderie,’ he said.
RSVP for the morning tea to firstname.lastname@example.org or 1300 366 361 by Monday 12 September.
